In this episode of the Nothing Doubting podcast, we dive into the concept of personal revelation, focusing on recognizing the voice of God.
The discussion reviews where we have been so far, summarizing the feelings of the heart—burning, love, peace, and comfort—and introduces the idea that personal revelation also affects the mind. I provide a brief synopsis of the topic of voice hearing from the psychological perspective and compare and contrast how hearing the voice of God is similar, but also quite different than other voice hearing situations. Through examining scriptures, we gain deep insight into what the voice of God is actually like, what attributes of this voice we might notice.
I make the argument in favor of learning to hear God in many ways. Relying on multiple ways to hear God, not just one way through feelings, strengthens faith and mitigates faith crises during challenging times when our feelings are compromised. I conclude by affirming that knowing God's voice is a privilege available to everyone, not just prophets. And it is the privilege of a lifetime!
